Hoover Steam Capsule CAD1700D Review

The Hoover Steam Capsule is a powerful red and grey steam mop which is capable of providing a deep and thorough clean using steam alone. No expensive and harsh cleaning chemicals are required. It's capable of killing 99.9% of bacteria under ideal conditions. It's suitable for hard floors, particularly those that are sealed. For example, vinyl, hardwood, linoleum, marble, stone, etc.

We particularly like how the mop has variable steam control. It can be set as and when needed, and it's perfect for if you want less steam on delicate surfaces such as parquet, and more steam on tiles and vinyl, and even more steam on stone and marble. To facilitate easy storage, the mop is compact and has a removable handle.

• No Chemicals - As mentioned above, this steam mop requires no chemicals, cleaning with steam alone. This has the advantage of you not needing to spend money on detergents, and it's good for allergy sufferers as there's no risk of chemical induced irritation.
• Kills Bacteria - Up to 99.9% of common household bacteria can be killed under certain circumstances. (More specifically, the bacteria include Staphylococcus Aureus, Salmonella Enteritidis, Candida Albican and Aspergillus Niger.)
• Accessories - The accessories include a glider for rugs and carpets, two mop pads, and a scrubbing nozzle for hard floors.
• Suitability - Also mentioned above, this steam mop is suitable for hard floors such as marble, stone, hardwood, vinyl, lino, etc.
• Variable Steam - The steam can be altered as needed. Low for more sensitive surfaces, and higher for strong floors.
• High Performance - The steam mop heats up in 30 seconds. It has a very large 700ml water tank (tanks are usually 300-400ml). This results in up to 50 minutes of steam time which is much longer than most steam mops. Some of the ones which we've looked at have only around 15 minutes of steam time, so this is substantially more.
• Cord Length - The power cord is 7 metres long which should be sufficient for most household purposes.
