Braun TexStyle 7 Steam Iron Review

The Braun TexStyle 7 Steam Iron is a powerful steam iron. It has a number of modern features designed to make your ironing experience quicker and hassle-free. In fact, it's possible to iron 15 shirts in 30 minutes with this iron. The soleplate is the main reason for this. It's a Braun Eloxal soleplate which is twice as hard as a stainless steel soleplate. It gives you more freedom when ironing garments with zips.

The iron is available in two colours - Black (pictured) and Blue & White. They differ slightly, although not by much. The Blue & White model has a 180g per minute steam boost, whereas the Black model has a 200g per minute boost. The variable steam output is the same on both though - 50g per minute. So far as getting ironing done with less effort goes, there's a water spray function to dampen garments before ironing.

• Water Spray - The iron has a water spray feature to dampen garments before ironing.
• Water Tank - The iron's water tank is 400ml. It also comes with a handy refill beaker.
• Anti-Calc - The iron prevents the build up of limescale which does wonders for its lifespan. It also helps to maintain its performance.
• Anti-Drip - The iron is designed not to drip, and therefore reduces the common problem of water marks.
• Automatic Shut Off - If the iron is idle for 8 minutes vertically or 30 seconds horizontally, it will switch itself off for safety reasons. Doing this saves energy too.
• Power Cable - The power cable is 2.5 metres long.
