SIMBR Steam Iron Review

The SIMBR Steam Iron is a fast heat-up, high performance steam iron with adjustable temperature and steam settings. It has plenty of up-to-date modern features, including a double-layered soleplate which consists of an aluminium layer sandwiched between a ceramic plate. This two layered approach achieves an even distribution of steam in order to make the finish consistent.

The iron's steam output and boost is high. The output is about 25-35g per minute which makes the iron capable of removing creases with a handful of strokes at most. The steam boost of 150g per minute helps the iron to remove particularly tough creases, including those in hard-wearing fabrics such as denim. We also like the iron's self-cleaning functionality, and anti-calcification design which helps considerably with limescale.

• Soleplate - As described above, the iron has a double-layered soleplate. It consists of an aluminium layer between the ceramic plate and the iron itself. Such a design causes heat to be evenly distributed across the ceramic. The soleplate is smooth to facilitate an easy glide and therefore gives you the ability to iron quicker. The iron also has a precision tip to ensure a thorough iron around buttons, collars, zips, etc.
• Powerful Output - As mentioned above, the continuous steam output is 25-35g per minute and the steam boost outputs at a rate of 150g per minute. The total power is 3100W which results in a fast heat-up time.
• Adjustable Temperature/Steam - The iron's temperature and steam can be adjusted to suit the type of fabric being ironed and the stubbornness of the creases. The temperature ranges from 70 to 220 degrees Celsius. The iron is capable of dry steaming more delicate fabrics such as silk.
• Vertical Cleaning - The iron has the ability to work vertically without an ironing board. This is particularly handy for giving suits a quick touch-up, as well as freshening up duvets and bed sheets for example. It's especially useful for curtains as they don't have to be taken down.
• Anti-Drip - The iron will automatically shut the water off when the temperature of the ceramic layer is too low. This prevents water droplets from leaking and creating water marks.
• Anti-Calc - The Anti-Calc system stops limescale from building up. This ensures that the iron continues to work at peak performance. It also helps to extend the iron's lifespan.
• Water Tank - The water tank has a large capacity of 260ml.

Summary

In summary, the SIMBR Steam Iron is up to the job. It removes creases with ease, even on harder fabrics such as denim. We particularly like its double-layered soleplate which provides an even distribution of steam.
