Philips PerfectCare 7000 Series Review

The Philips PerfectCare 7000 Series Steam Generator Iron is a high-tech and ultra-lightweight piece of equipment which is designed to easily remove creases with its powerful steam output and boost function. It's a top of the range product with an automatic adjusting temperature, meaning you can iron silk straight after jeans without having to change any settings. On top of this, it can also iron vertically which is ideal for hanging curtains. It's available in two colours - Champagne and Boost Grey (pictured).

In terms of specifics, the iron gives a 120g per minute continuous steam output, with a 450g per minute boost to remove tough creases. On top of that, it has a large 7 bar of pressure to allow for the ironing of multiple layers as well as thicker fabrics such as denim. The soleplate (underneath) is made from a durable material which results in a smooth glide. During use, the iron will collect limescale automatically and an indicator light will alert when it needs emptying.

• Easy De-Calc System - The iron will store limescale and alert you as to when it needs emptying. Emptying is as simple as removing a plug.

Summary

Overall, the 7000 Series is a good steam generator iron. It achieves fast results and works well on multiple layers as well as thicker fabrics. Its most prominent feature is the OptimalTEMP system which eliminates the need for manual temperature control and as a result removes the need for pre-sorting laundry beforehand.
